ROOT CANAL THERAPY

When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected due to a deep cavity or trauma, root canal (endodontic) therapy is indicated. This procedure involves the removal of the tooth’s pulp (nerve and blood supply), which lies within the root of the tooth. Many people believe that root canal means that the tooth has to come out. The tooth stays in and only the nerve is removed so you can keep the tooth. After root canal therapy, a crown is generally recommended.
